What's the Big Deal with Face Oil?

Everyone seems to know why an oil is good for your beard… but why is it worth investing in one for your face?⁣

For those of you rare unicorns who've never had skin issues and wake up with perfect skin everyday, an oil can help maintain that complexion, protect against environmental factors (like pollution, sun damage, and dry air), and leave you refreshed. Your skin loses collagen as it ages, and lack of moisture can later lead to breakouts, wrinkles, or dull-looking skin. ⁣

If you have oily, dry or generally sensitive skin, it might signal an imbalance in sebum production, which oils are amazing for. The fatty acid profile of an oil will tell you a lot, and a general rule of thumb is to uses oils with a higher % of linoleic acid for oily skin, and those with a higher % of oleic acid for dry or mature skin. Below is a great reference from Goals To Get Glowing of just how diverse oils can be.

Of course, everyone's skin is completely different and you might need to try out a few until you find what you like! For reference, Man Face is formulated with a healthy balance of the two, but leaning toward oils high in linoleic acid for those with sensitive and more oily skin. That’s why even though you might need to try it to believe it, it's actually ‘lightweight’ and ‘non-greasy.'⁣
